Hip-Hop lost another legend today. TMZ has reported that Coolio passed away at the age of 59. According to their report — as well as his longtime manager, Jarez — he suffered a cardiac arrest inside a bathroom at his friend's home. An official cause of death has not been determined.

Coolio transcended Hip-Hop culture and became something of a pop culture phenomenon with 1995's "Gangsta's Paradise" which featured prominently on the Dangerous Minds soundtrack, and he subsequently won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance in 1996 (beating out the likes of The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, and Dr. Dre).

Between 1995-1997, Coolio was nominated in the same category three times for "Fantastic Voyage, "Gangsta's Paradise," and "1,2,3,4 (Sumpin' New)."

We wish his friends, family, and fans our deepest condolences.
