In recent a recent conversation at Snowfall’s CTAM panel, Damson Idris joked about wanting to collaborate with Denzel Washington on season 6 of the show, and he reflected on his early days working with the series creator the late John Singleton who passed in 2019. When speaking of Denzel, Idris says jokingly “He called me. He’s going to be in season 6 as the villain.” He said further “He won’t be, but Denzel is my idol and he’s a giant in this industry. I’ll never have anything bad to say about him, I just hope that he watches this season of Snowfall. Denzel was discussed because someone at the red carpet for A journal For Jordan asked Denzel about Idris, who tried out unsuccessfully for the role of Washington’s son in 2016’s Fences, and Washington didn’t remember him.

When speaking about the late John Singleton Idris said: “In essence, that symbol implanted in me was just to be truthful” said Idris. “To just stay true to the story, true to the people of the times, and really respect this time. We often talk bad of this time, but there’s so much good that came out of it too. It had a huge impact on pop culture, fashion, music and that’s what the show shines a lens on.” Season 5 of FX’s Snowfall premieres on February 23rd.
