It's April Fools Day, so everybody's getting in on the pranks. Legendary rapper/producer DJ Quik decided to pull one on his fans, and not everyone was laughing afterwards.

In a series of posts to his Instagram Stories, Quik claimed that he'd been shot.

“I’m on the way to the hospital. Someone just shot my into my car 7-10 times on the freeway. I got hit twice," Quik wrote on IG.

"Pray for me.”

After some hours, Quik posted: “Oh yeah…APRIL FOOL.”

DJ Quik then posted a video boasting about the prank.

“Mmmhmm, April Fool’s Day. Y’all got to top that. I got y’all. That was a good one. Damn, I impressed myself with that. Happy April’s Fools, shit. Love y’all. I’m good.”

But some fans were taken aback.

DJ Quik is out of his mind for thinking this was a funny joke for April Fool’s. Making people worry if you’re hurt or not when you’re fine because of a date is very strange behaviour. pic.twitter.com/8h3y3HjKdE
