According to Complex, Lil Wayne and Future were set to perform at the Grammy's tribute to 50 years of Hip-Hop but were no-shows the day of.

Lil Wayne had shown up each day of rehearsals in preparation to perform "A Milli," and Future appeared at rehearsals as well, Complex reports. However, on the big day, neither showed up. Lil Uzi Vert was reportedly added as a performer on the day of the show.

Nevertheless, the tribute was a success, with numerous icons including LL COOL J, Queen Latifah, Black Thought, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious 5, Salt-N-Pepa, and more hitting the stage. It was also announced this week that another major celebration is on the way. A two-hour, Grammy-branded special will tape in the Bronx on Aug. 11, the official 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop. CBS will broadcast the special later this year. So far, Questlove, who curated the Grammy tribute, is involved, as well as Jesse Collins, an executive producer of the Grammys.

Questlove alluded to the no-shows while answering questions about who was and wasn't included in the tribute following the show, saying artists were either already booked, declined, or a "third option I'm not going to get into." He later clarified that another tribute (the one taping this August) is in the works.
