It's always a great day when Little Brother releases new music. Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh just dropped two new tracks, "Wish Me Well" and "Glory Glory."
"Wish Me Well" also comes with a video directed by Will Stroud, and finds the pair rapping on a rooftop, as they tag team over a mid-tempo groove produced by Deonis "Pumah" Cook. As expected, both are in top form lyrically with Phonte rapping lines like: "Made my first record on an okay computer / Cause I saw where the radio was headed / And still said fuck ‘em like a nigga had a fetish..." And "And if they bought your ass a chain /That’s your budget getting choked /That’s a nope for me dawg not willing to do something strange / Be at the mercy of others pullin the puppet strings / I say it gladly I’m not Milton Bradley / So stop playin on my fuckin name."
Meanwhile, Pooh delivers wise bars like: "Fuck'em like a nigga had a fetish / They should have been vetted / Everyone of y'all get some credit / Filled two sets of books and we never saw a check / What you need in life? Is it money or respect? / When you got the power then you know you're getting both / The road less traveled then you know you're getting close."
"Glory Glory," produced by Conductor Williams, is another opportunity for LB to remind folks they've been exceptional for decades, while watering the track with tidbits of life advice from grown men who've lived it.
