MF DOOM's Widow Has Unanswered Questions About His Medical Care Following His Sudden Death

Jasmine Dumile, the widow of masked rap legend MF DOOM, has unanswered questions about his sudden 2020 death and the medical care that he received in a Leeds hospital.

DOOM, born Daniel Dumile, was being treated at St. James Hospital after he suffered a severe and rare reaction to recently prescribed blood pressure medication. Dumile, who had been living in Leeds at the time, died in October of 2020 after his condition worsened. Jasmine Dumile said that her husband had been well, but developed kidney disease, which lead to anxiety and weight gain.

Dumile developed breathing problems and went to the A&E department in Leeds, where it was discovered that his tongue and throat had started to swell after two doses of the blood pressure medication, according to his widow. After DOOM's death, Mrs. Dumile raised concerns about his treatment at St. James and alleges that he was not able to alert staff because his buzzer was not in reach. She also raised concerns about his room claiming that it contained only an old metal desk and books according to Leeds Live.

"It Wasn't set up...maybe it was a [hospital] room a long time ago. It did have a bed in it."

Doom wasn't allowed visitors due to Covid restrictions, and his wife wasn't able to see him until October 31, 2020 when the respirator that was helping him breathe was turned off.
