On Feb. 28, 2004, Usher's "Yeah!" featuring fellow Atlanta-based stars Ludacris and Lil Jon peaked at #1 on the charts and stayed there for 12 weeks. The mega-hit ultimately became the most-played song of 2004.

The song, which was produced by Lil Jon, was featured on Usher's monster album, Confessions. It was only replaced on the top of the charts by Usher's follow-up single, "Burn." The track went on to win Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the Grammys and was nominated for Record of the Year.

In a 2004 interview, Usher talked about his work ethic, and how it led to his massive success, decades after he first entered the business when he was just a teenager.

"It's not just about a hit record, it's not just the marketing behind an album, it's about the talent, and I go out there and I work hard," he said. "No one can just take your spot. If you really work hard, no one can take your spot."
