Snoop Dogg Confesses His Eminem Collaboration Challenged Him Lyrically

Whatever miscommunication happened between the two a while back is long dead, because now Eminem and Snoop Dogg just can't stop singing each other's praises — sometimes literally, like on their recent collaboration "From the D to the LBC." And yesterday, Em posted a clip of the two in the studio talking shop, specifically their work together on the song.

“Yeah, but you killed it though, bro,” Snoop says at the start of the short clip. “You challenge me, Marshall. You put me back in my karate school days where I used to be a young MC and, you know, loved the challenge of having to try new styles and new cadences. The rap game is supposed to be challenging. iI’s supposed to make you dig in your bag. I’ve heard you on other songs with other rappers and you tend to show out, so I wanted to make sure I was going to represent.”

But no worries, Snoop. Eminem thinks you did just that. “You showed out," Em confirms.

Beyond their collaboration, earlier this week, Eminem announced merch, vinyls, and bundles are now available for pre-order for his upcoming greatest hits compilation, Curtain Call 2, arriving Aug. 5. Meanwhile, Snoop is set to star with Jamie Foxx in the action-comedy Day Shift, where the pair will hunt vampires John Wick-style. The film drops on Netflix on August 12.
