Talib Kweli and Madlib have dropped their new collaborative project, Liberation 2, exclusively on Luminary.

As Kweli points out, the project, exclusively produced by Madlib, was a long time coming. “This album was written, recorded and mixed over 10 years,” he said. “It’s expansive in concept but tight in its substance and approach. People today are taking stock of what is most important – family, health, wellness, love.”

The first single from the project, “After These Messages," features Kweli's son Amani while other tracks on the album feature the rapper’s daughter, Diani. Q-Tip, Wildchild, Roc Marciano, Westside Gunn, and a posthumous appearance from Mac Miller are also featured on the album, which was recorded between Kweli's two trips to Africa, including Ghana where he performed during Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa's Black Star Line Festival.
