Missy Elliott is undoubtedly one of the most innovative, trendsetting artists of our time. As she continues to rack up awards for her decades in the game and stellar output, including becoming the first woman rapper to ever be voted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, fans have consistently reminisced on some of her most iconic moments.

Most recently, Missy reacted to a social media post remembering her legendary "She's A B**ch" video, rightly declaring she was "ahead of the game."

"Looking back at these songs & videos this is ART!" she wrote on Twitter. "This is what Risk & a SHIFT in music look like I promise this is FACTS! It took me years to realize but now I can say wit my FULL chest This is NEXT LEVEL."

Missy, who won eight MTV Video Music Awards, including Video Of The Year victory for "Work It” in 2003, and became the first female rapper to receive MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2019, also said the space age way she was moving in the video wasn't an effect.

Missy has been on the receiving end of a lot of love lately. On a recent episode of People Party with Talib Kweli, guest Sleek Louch revealed Missy Elliott's contribution to 1997's "It's All About The Benjamins" which featured The Notorious B.I.G., Lil Kim and The Lox.

"A DJ named Super Mario leaked it on purpose," Sheek said. "You weren't even supposed to that shit back then. That song just spread. I didn't even like the record when they played us the track. I walked in, and Missy was in the room, and [I heard the track] and I was like, 'Whatever'. Missy was there dancing and doing the beatbox and we didn't even know who she was at the time. She had the 'hee hee haa' joint out with Gina Thompson at the time... She said, 'Let me hear something...' [and I said my verse from the song] then she asked everybody to rap and told us to write Puff's verse and which verses to keep. She started beatboxing and dancin' and I was like who is this?" Of course, the rest is history.
