Nicki Minaj just scored another win in her career, one that involves Missy Elliott. Nicki just broke Missy's record as the longest-charting female rapper on the Billboard Hot 100.

With Nicki's 2022 release "Super Freaky Girl," Nicki pushed past Missy on Jan. 1, according to Chart Data. The two had previously been tied.

Earlier this year, Nicki was presented the MTV Vanguard Award, which earned praise from Missy. Nicki then thanked the Hip-Hop star for her "iconic artistry." Missy was honored with the award in 2019, becoming the first female rapper to be recognized.

"You kicked down this [door]," Nicki wrote. "Nothing but Love & Respect for your iconic artistry."

As for Missy, she had a big year in 2022, with a street naming, brand partnerships, and the 20th-anniversary celebration of her album Under Construction, which Tyler, The Creator recently advised his fans to go study.
