This is also the first time the album will be pressed on 2LP black vinyl and 2CD deluxe. The 2CD deluxe will also feature liner notes on the making of their hit, “Shoop.”

The limited edition deluxe double LP will feature new songs and remixes including “Emphatically No,” a remix of “Shoop,” and two fresh remixes of “Whatta Man" on blue vinyl. This also marks the first time all of the bonus tracks, with the exception of “I Am the Body Beautiful,” will be available on DSPs.

Very Necessary arrived on Oct. 12, 1993. The project solidified what Salt-N-Pepa had been doing for years — delivering their brand of feminism in a male-dominated industry. Salt, Pepa, Spinderella, and Hurby "Luv Bug" Azor wrote and produced the album, which featured radio favorites like "Shoop," "Whatta Man" featuring En Vogue, and "None of Your Business." Though they'd experienced major success previously, the album marked another level of accomplishment for the group, selling over seven million copies worldwide (five in the U.S.), and peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200. With Very Necessary, they became the first female rap act (solo or group) to have a multi-platinum selling album.

The 30th anniversary edition of the album arrives on October 20, 2023 via UMe. Pre-order HERE.
